EXPORT OPERATIONS

Our experienced team covers all operational areas from cattle procurement and quarantine management to feedlot backgrounding and international logistics coordination. With a strong focus on animal health, welfare, and client success, we are committed to delivering outstanding outcomes whether your cattle are destined for export or domestic feeding programs.

EXPORT BY AIR OR BY SEA

Air transport is the safest and fastest way to move livestock. Within just a few dozen hours, animals can be delivered to almost any city in the world within minimal stress. However, due to higher costs and limited capacity, air transport is generally reserved for breeding animals of exceptional genetic value.

Sea transport remains the most widely used method for livestock export. It offers significant advantages in capacity and cost efficiency, while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, making it ideal for large-scale shipments of livestock.

Health Testing Prior to Quarantine

An accredited veterinarian conducts comprehensive health testing on all selected animals in accordance with officials export protocols. Only animals that fully meet the required health and documentation standards are approved for transport to the quarantine facility. This strict pre-quarantine screening ensures that every consignment begins with healthy, well-documented animals—supporting the highest standards of animal welfare and export compliance.

Pre-Export Quarantine

All eligible animals are transferred to quarantine facility for the mandatory pre-export isolation period. During this stage, animals are housed in clean, well-ventilated paddocks with access to high-quality feed and water. Our experienced stock handlers, veterinarians, and government officers jointly monitor the animals’ health and welfare throughout the quarantine. Routine veterinary checks, vaccinations, and government inspections are performed to ensure full compliance with export health certification requirements. This process ensures that every animal loaded for export meets the highest biosecurity, welfare, and traceability standards.

Transport and Voyage Management

BeefGen exclusively uses vessels operated by certified livestock carriers that fully comply with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL). During the voyage, trained and accredited stockpersons accompany the shipment to continuously monitor animal health, feeding, and environmental conditions. Detailed daily records are maintained, covering feed and water consumption, temperature, humidity, and welfare indicators to ensure the wellbeing of all animals on board. Upon arrival, the stockperson prepares a comprehensive voyage report and provides post-arrival care recommendations, completing BeefGen’s commitment to ensuring animal welfare and compliance from farm to destination.
